How to Settle Expenses via UPI

UPI is the easiest way to settle shared expenses in India. This guide covers how to use UPI settlement in Tacth to pay back friends with one tap.

View simplified balances

Before settling, check simplified balances in Tacth. Tacth calculates who pays whom with the minimum number of transfers.

This means fewer UPI payments to make.

Tap settle via UPI

When you're ready to settle, tap the settle button. Tacth generates a UPI deep link.

This link opens your default UPI app — GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, or any UPI-compatible app — pre-filled with the exact amount and recipient.

Confirm the payment

Review the pre-filled amount and recipient in your UPI app, then confirm the payment.

Your UPI PIN and bank details are entered only in your payment app — Tacth never sees or stores them.

Mark as settled

After completing the UPI payment, mark it as settled in Tacth.

This updates the group balances and records the settlement in the activity feed.

Settle with cash instead

If you prefer to settle in person, mark the settlement as cash in Tacth.

This records that the debt was settled without a UPI payment.
